About me……..

Hi I’m Mel, the founder and creator of Maisy Eve designs.

I live in a lovely rural Dorset village, not far from the world famous Jurassic Coast with my husband, two daughters and my crazy cocker spaniel Dexter.  

From a young age jewellery has always been a big part of my life, as with most little girls; starting with getting my ears pierced when I was 8, wearing my mum’s jewellery on special occasions and then making my own earrings, friendship bracelets and necklaces.

All of my pieces are designed and handcrafted by me in my home studio (closely supervised by Dexter of course!)

Living in the countryside with the seaside and market town of Dorchester on my doorstep, all of these areas provide an abundance of inspiration for my work.

And this allows me to incorporate these natural elements and textures into my pieces.

All pieces are made with copper, sterling silver (92.5%) or silver metal clay (99.9% - fine silver).  

Silver Clay is made up of tiny recycled pure silver particles, an organic binder and water. Once fired it becomes fine silver and can be hallmarked in the same way as sterling silver and gold.

Experimenting with the different textures is so rewarding (makes me smile every time).

Maisy Eve Designs has been born from a passion to feed my creative inner maker, not only to craft one off exciting pieces of jewellery for myself, but to share my passion with others! 

Creating everyday wearable jewellery from something that started as a strip of wire, plain sheet of metal or a lump of clay and moulding it, adding texture, heating it, bending and polishing it is just so rewarding and satisfying knowing that it will make someone happy is just a dream come true.

The simplicity but elegance of sterling silver and endless possibilities that fine silver (metal clay) gives me to make stunning pieces that can be worn every day and admired but will last a lifetime.
